GoWheelsUp!, the brainchild of Texas music icon Cory Morrow, is a family-friendly Central Texan festival celebrating music, exotic cars, an airshow and Texan cuisine. On May 3-5, the community came together to celebrate at the San Marcos Regional airport. It was created for “spectators from all walks of life” and drew a wonderfully varied crowd.
Friday’s Take-Off part featured an invite-only meet-and-mingle event with host Cory Morrow where participants got to meet the pilots of the airshow. Throughout the weekend, guests were treated to an exceptional food festival featuring traditional Texan cuisine and an impressive array of over 200 vehicles featuring everything from exotic European vehicles to American Muscle. The airshow was a spectacle in itself; skydivers, aerial acrobatics and military might. Live music was sprinkled throughout the weekend, featuring Morrow himself and a delectable lineup of rock and country acts. Saturday was headlined by the legendary multi-platinum artist and former Poison frontman, Bret Michaels.
The event drew approximately 30,000 attendees, boosted the local economy and city of San Marcos, and generated over $120,000 going to local charities.

Stan grew up with film cameras from an early age. Fascinated by 'colorful things that go fast,' he spent many rolls of film on race tracks. Now in Austin TX, the live music venues are his favorite places to capture images of musicians playing music; from poorly lit dive bars to major concert arenas with thousands of screaming fans. Stan also has a photography business that covers subjects like football, baseball, basketball, motorsports racing, real estate, etc. He is also a licensed drone pilot.
We are thrilled to have Stan contribute to dRiFFt. With his vibrant, action-packed style and an incredible passion for his work, he's a good guy and a truly great photographer. Check out his photography here and follow him on social media here.
