Like camping? Like music? Like lazy afternoons floating on the river? Love summer festivals, but hate the crowds? Meet River Revival: Texas’ most underrated small music festival concept, a festival you need to know about. Think an incredible campground on the river, delicious communal chef-cooked meals, activities such as hiking, tubing, canoeing, swimming and fishing, scavenger hunts, workshops, yoga, art installations and even a float parade - and that’s before the incredible music (see lineup below).
Created by Lone Star Beer and Splice Records, this communal festival and camping experience will showcase the best of Texan music and also the best of the Texas summer scene from September 26-29, 2019. It’s small, it’s intimate and a very unique concept in a world of big-box festivals. “Our goal is to be the most fun and inclusive festival in Texas, not the biggest.” In its' fifth year, and with a cap of 750 campers, this festival guarantees a sense of community and family built around great music from Texas. It will take place on the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, TX and admission includes meals (courtesy of Little Kitchen HTX), a campsite all music, activities and floating on the river.
“Festival goers become a tight-knit family through a shared love for music, nature and good vibes. Splice makes it their mission to establish a community of kindred spirits with everyone breaking bread together at the daily communal breakfast and dinner.”
It’s the seasoned older sibling to our beloved Float Fest; suited a little more to families, free-spirits and the Woodstock-esque crowd - and less so to the exuberant 20-somethings. And since Float Fest was cancelled this year, Team dRiFFt was a little behind on their river-meets-music-meets-camping quota. We are thrilled to be joining the nature lovers, music goers, river-rats, foodies and festival lovers (collectively known as River Revivalists) in late September to learn all about this novel festival and what it has to offer.
“River Revival is a little festival with a BIG heart. If you enjoy camping, live music, hanging out with like-minded people, floating the Guadalupe river, and dancing barefoot under the stars… then this festival is most definitely meant for you. Come make new friends, catch-up with old friends, and come float the river with us at River Revival.”
