JMBLYA brings their curated selection of today’s hottest and most sought-after hip hop performers to Dallas and Austin this weekend.
The seventh annual JMBLYA Festival is almost upon us with a 2019 lineup that features headliners Travis Scott and Lil Wayne. This one-day festival spans two cities; Dallas at Fair Park on May 3, 2019 and Austin at Austin's Circuit of The Americas on May 4, 2019. Grammy-nominated artist Travis Scott and Lil Wayne will make a stop in Dallas and Austin while both currently on their own respective tours; Scott’s 2019 Astroworld Tour and Lil Wayne hitting the festival circuit hard with additional performances at Rolling Loud, Pot of Gold and Governors Ball.
Since it’s 2013 inception, JMBLYA has become renowned for a lineup featuring a “highly curated selection of today’s hottest and most sought-after hip hop performers,” according to JMBLYA’s press release. It’s almost the underdog event of the year; part of Scoremore, founded by Sascha Stone and Claire Bogle in 2009. These young entrepreneurs hatched a plan to bring hip-hop to Texas and support a new generation of up-and-coming acts. It’s evolved over the years, including a name change to Jambalaya and then JMBLYA, and seen its’ own share of successes and failures. Weather has previously been an issue, and the decision was made to limit the fest to just two days and two cities, removing Houston from the bill.
It’s become one of Texas’ most infamous hip-hop oriented festivals and shown steady growth year over year. With a philanthropic touch, each date of the festival supports a local charity. In Dallas, JMBLYA supports Music Forward Foundation, a nonprofit music education organization under Live Nation Entertainment and in Austin, Grounded in Music. They’ve always fallen back on a loyal fanbase, word-of-mouth, unique ticket sales techniques and a reputation as “your favorite rapper’s favorite promoters.” Our team will be there in Austin on May 4th, soaking up the scene and sharing the experience with you. General admission tickets for both days are still available, starting at $109. VIP packages are also available; from the Pinky Ring VIP package for $249 to the Fur Coat VIP at $549.
