Hailing from Austin Texas, Superfonicos are a deliciously unique group with an uplifting sound that's just as much Colombian funk as it is Carribean soul. Incorporating elements of cumbia, reggae, merengue, afro-beat, funk and soul, their dynamic sound just begs you to dance. They're known for a "commanding sound and presence with great vocals and harmonies." - Felix Contreras & Marisa Ruiz, NPR. Photographer Lindsay Lewis was on-hand to capture the magic of their performance in Austin last week.
"Superfónicos will turn up the heat in any venue. Expect to see a true “world music”
experience with this band, as they bounce around from cumbia, to reggae, to
Caribbean styles with ease.” - Omar Lozano, VISIT AUSTIN
"Thick with energetic brass and Caribbean beats; it is music that will get your hips
swinging and your feet moving. "- Georgina Cook, KUTX
Hailing originally from Austin, Texas, Lindsay has been snapping pictures of bands, places, people, and events all over the world for a little over a decade. She is always on the hunt for a good story and often finds inspiration in live music, the outdoors, and through traveling. She has a colorful taste in music, ranging from the likes of Big Thief, Molly Burch and Sweet Spirit to Mountain Goats, Jimmie Rodgers, and Dr. Dog and will never forget that one time Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips walked on top of her in his giant plastic bubble at a show he played in Columbia, Missouri.
